For Christmas, I got some new goodies for CamBree. I got Galfer Wave Brake Rotors, Galfer Braided SS Brake lines, Galfer "Black" compound Brake Pads, Scott's SS Oil Filter, Dynojet Power Commander IIIusb & BMC Air Filter. Of course, after getting everything installed I took her for a quick test spin up in the Santa Monica Mountains. I didn't have my camera with me but my buddy projekt7R (from SoCalSportbikes) was up there with some other SCSers and got a nice picture of me going around a nice turn near the Overlook.

The following week, I found out that some of the gang from the CBR600RR.com forum were planning a trip to Angeles Crest Highway. Most of them had never been to ACH, so I volunteered to ride up there with them and give them a "tour". I also found out that some of the SCSers were planning a trip up there too. It just so happened that by the time the SCSers arrived at the Shell station at the bottom of ACH the CBR600RRers would be done with breakfast at a near by Jack in the Box. I thought this would be a great way to bring the 2 forums together.

I met with DaBeachBum and cbrfan at the designated Jack in the Box at 9:00 am. We had some breakfast and waited to see if some others would show. By 9:30 we were done with our breakfast and no one else showed up, so we headed over to the Shell station to see who was there. Once we got there we saw zzzzzkidzzzzz, PoPo and some others from SCS were there. We hung out for a bit and then decided to go ahead and head up to Newcombs.

Part way up ACH we got stuck behind this huge caravan of cagers (probably like 7 or more). We putted behind them for a bit before I just couldn't take it anymore. We pulled over into a big Turn-Out and decided to let the caravan get way out in front of us so that we could really "enjoy" the Crest. We hung out for a bit and took a few pictures. When we finally thought it was clear we geared back up and got ready to roll right when the SCSers were rolling by. We joined their caravan of bikes and carved our way up to Newcombs.

Once we got to Newcombs we hung out for a bit and looked at all the bikes there. I really didn't want to do an all day ride, but DaBeachBum and cbrfan were interested in heading out towards San Bernadino. I decided to hook up with the SCSers and said goodbye to DaBeachBum and cbrfan.

I hung out with the SCSers at Newcombs for a while. pg_rider ask me if he could take a spin on CamBree. He's the kind of rider that you can certainly trust with your bike, so I let him take a spin while I got something to drink. He seemed to enjoy the ride by the look of the smile on his face when he got back.

We all decided to head out and hit up Upper Big Tujunga Canyon and then Angeles Forest Highway (AFH). By this point we had pg_rider, popo, zzzzzkidzzzzz, Tommy, Tony, JohnnyMidnight and a new guy named James going with us. We had a blast on Upper Big T and AFH. We then stopped at the Stunt spot on AFH to let pg_rider, popo and JohnnyMidnight give us a wheelie show. I tried to get more pictures than just the one I have here, but the delay in digital cameras SUCKS so I missed getting some other cool pictures.

By this point, I was running low on gas AND I wanted to go ahead and get home to be with the family so zzzzzkidzzzzz and I headed out towards Acton to go to the nearest gas station while everyone else headed back up AFH. Luckily, We were able to get to a station before I ran out of gas. zzzzzkidzzzzz was cool enough to wait for me as I fueled up and then ride most of the way back towards our homes together.

All in all, a great day on the Crest. Great weather, great people, great roads, no cops, no crashes . . what else could a motorcyclist ask for?
